Ofcourse believe&become you didn't ramble too much! I really appreciate you taking the time to write and I read throu it and I agree. It's easy to find people on Tumblr but to making meaningful friendships or have conversations are kinda hard. I guess that's why they introduced that chat-like feature. I'm really not looking to become popular on Tumblr, beacause like you say It's just a number. When I see someone post who has 5000 followers and they only get around 3 - 10 notes on their posts, I scratch my head and think "huh?" I do much more enjoy this forum where I can talk, crack jokes and have discussions with people... Make friends. That's the thing I wanted with Tumblr, to make friends, but like I said, making meaningful friendships or even acquaintances on Tumblr is really hard. I'd want to point out that in my own experience Tumblr is a lot harder to 'casually' make friends- if you want to connect with someone you need to make an effort, by sending them asks, messages, etc. It's hard to meet people by just minding your own business, so to speak! So in that sense it's harder to meet people than like on a forum, but on the other hand, if you do decide reach out to someone, I think Tumblr is a little easier to do it. I've noticed a difference in that way because on my Simblr, because it's a sideblog of mine, I tend to stick to myself a little more than on my personal tumblr that doesn't really have a theme. My personal blog is where I have made more friends despite having less followers because I reached out to people and was reached out to. And I personally am thrilled when someone reached out to me because they liked my content or thought I seemed cool, and I'm pretty sure anyone else with a Simblr (or Tumblr in general) would feel the same!

Thanks for the tip, that sounds like a good idea karzalee but unfortantly CAS items are very hard to locate for me and find out where they are from, buy/build things are often much easier as people often add their names in the description. But seeing a shirt in CAS just makes me scratch my head, lol. I hate/love the new chat function, I like being able to give small comments easily to someone but writing and having conversations I find super hard as when it's too much text it's so hard to look throu with that small little window. Spirashun - Yeah that's how I feel to. It takes alot of effort, reblogs and whatnots to "get someones attention" lol Oh btw, I think your cool beans!

I hope you found your happiness J Mzungu, Tumblr is a jungle where everything is harder than a casual sims forum to make you know even if you interact with people , like a lot and post sims things no matter what kind of posts.People are there for CC most of the time.My experience is very deceiving but I kept this place for sharing CC.People only search art and excellence and about the relashionship, you give much than you receive and I admit talking with people was the only thing I regret the most .Better to stay off of people and away from the system. You'll be better in your mind.A simblr is something we do for fun but it's actually a competition.*roll eyes *.I broke my simblr and I have just make a new fresh one with 95% cc now with the same name and I still can't believe I got people who follows me back even though most of the time these people are non-simblr now, a little number I hope it'll be little.Better stay little, no matter what you share.Nobody cares of the rests, CC are gold.
I am not complaning about tumblr and I support people who wants to open a simblr.I just share an other point of view and an other reality which could happen to somebody else. I wish you the best and the success you deserve.

I personally LOVE tumblr and you definitely should keep on using it. A lot of people seem to think tumblr is hard to learn to use, is confusing, and all but I honestly don't see the confusion myself. As for feedback and not getting comments is concerned, I only equate it to not getting out there to tell everyone about their simblr. Tumblr COULD do a better job of floating newer users to the top of the queue so that more will follow, but as far as feedback there are many different things you could do. You could choose to come here and to the Official Sims forum and just let people know of a new update (which is what I do), those that do have a simblr and that Im following I can message them and ask them what they think if I crave some real critical feedback, and if not......I know that my simblr is doing well when I have a lot of likes on a certain entry. On the more daily showcasing of CC is concerned than anything else......for me, it tends to get tedious. I love to see it because if I am cruising around tumblr to look at stories and it pops up? Chances are I will take a look if I find it cool and want it in my game (just think about it as looking through a catelog......sometimes you really want to just search through it, sometimes just leafing through it briefly is something you want to do.....). Now if its not my forte for that day though, I will glaze over it and not even take a chance with it. So, when you are talking about how much you should advertise your CC? That's all up to you........personally, if I ever get to be good at make CC (or even like making CC)......I probably would do it weekly as I am more of a story writer. Just give it a shot.......it wouldn't hurt. Also, if you do, you can look me up as I am always willing to give a look and a comment!

This is sorta what I was saying above when I was discussing using Tumblr as the place to upload your own CC that you've made. I think the way many people use Tumblr is exactly what you're describing...they usually just cruise around it looking at stories and funny/interesting pictures. Lately, it seems they also cruise around looking to argue about political/social issues in a fairly mean and snarky way. The main point being that the majority of people on Tumblr don't to go there to "shop" for Sims 4 items...they don't go there for anything Sims 4 related at all. They may accidentally stumble on a creator's Tumblr because the picture happened to plop at the top of the list at the moment they made a somewhat related search or they may get a direct link to it from someone else but it's all rather hit or miss. Hit or miss as to whether they even see any given creator's stuff and hit or miss as to whether they happen to be in the mood to hit the download and/or like button if, on the off chance, they actually did see it. Most of the time they're going to be using Tumblr how bearbear37 just said, "if its not my forte for that day though, I will glaze over it and not even take a chance with it."...that is, they didn't come to Tumblr with the intent to shop for their Sims 4 game...they came with the intent to browse through Tumblr itself. Using Tumblr to get a name out there for your CC is fighting an uphill battle not only with Tumblr's lack of any decent indexing for content but with the average Tumblr member's goals when using Tumblr. You're looking for Sims 4 players who use CC and like talking about it...they're looking for a second or two of something that piques their interest before clicking away to the next second or two of interesting stuff. Using Tumblr as a way to connect with people who will actually give you feedback other than possibly a like now and again is, in my opinion, expecting something that Tumblr, as a social media site, isn't really set up to deliver very well. Don't get me wrong...Tumblr is good at what it's for. It just isn't all that good at what it isn't for and it is not set up to be an interactive downloads site. I think creators have a much better chance of getting known and hearing real feedback if they do things in the opposite way. That is, instead of using Tumblr as the main place they post their uploads and using forums/personal websites as the place to advertise their uploads, they use a forum or personal website as the place they post their uploads and then advertise those things on Tumblr along with the other less upload oriented posts they make. That way they can get the "likes" from Tumblr but their downloaders come to them to get the download in a format more conducive to feedback. If they post in a forum there is the added advantage that people outside the Tumblr sphere are coming there specifically to shop for Sims 4...you are meeting the exact want that brought them there rather than hoping your item is interesting enough to distract them from the real purpose that brought them there as you are when you post uploads at Tumblr. When people come to shop at one creator's page they will stay to browse through items by other creators that they may not have heard of yet...they came specifically to shop and they will browse around looking for stuff they like. The more creators that use that forum as their "home base" the more the site becomes known and the more downloaders will mark it as a destination when they're looking to shop for their game...it builds up synergistically. The whole point of the Creator Studios here at Studio forums was to have a space for creators that is more able to provide what they're looking for from an uploads site than Tumblr can provide. This thread was one of the several threads at Studio forums that spurred the formation of that section. All creators in the Studio community should feel welcome to grab a Creator Studio. It isn't the largest uploads site in Sims 4 but it is supportive and you won't be hassled by a moderated queue that dictates how you should make your creations or present them. We're working on improving it and it's growing slowly but surely.

I don't have anything interesting to say aside from my opinion.
I don't ever even search in Tumblr I search for sims 4 custom content and if Tumblr objects happen to show up in a link, I might click it. I'm not generally a person that wants to put a like down I want to say more to the creator, which is why I love this place, you have the option to do that. I am in the mood sometimes for stories and sims 4 pictures but I don't search tumblr for them I come to a forum I'm used to frequenting.
What I like about S4S is you have the option to "like" and you have the option to say more if you have the time.

I'm a huge fan of tumblr. I have my sims tumblr and my personal tumblr. I find so many interesting sims screenshots (I follow over 1000 sims tumblrs) and I also see people talking about good movies, music and tv shows. It's how I discovered many, many tv shows. It's also how I learned to use photoshop lol! I also find out so much interesting stuff to do in the sims. I never knew very much about cc until I got on tumblr. I've had no negative experiences there. If someone posts stuff (political or otherwise) that I don't like I just unfollow them. And I've met lots of people on there. We message each other quite a bit actually so I guess it depends on the person. Having said that I do enjoy a forum setting. It's fun to read the threads and easy to navigate. I've met lots of people on forums too but not quite like tumblr. Anyway that's my spiel lol! Everyone is different and that's what makes life intersting I guess. mister I didn't know you had a tumblr...wow! 12,000 followers is a lot. I go to your simista.net often....I love your creations. I love clutter things. You're awesome!

I use Tumblr as my main site to upload. I used to use mine as a way to share cc I recolor but I now tend to use it for my legacy and my ts4 life challenge. I find tumblr to be more useful for me because I can upload things to a queue and not have to worry about having to post everyday because otherwise I wouldn't have any posts for weeks. I used to use modthesims but I disliked how they could tell you how they wanted something to look. The only downside to Tumblr is that you never know when something is updated unless you follow the person who created it. I'm not sure how it is here but on ModTheSims they do tell you when something is updated which is very handy especially with mods that break with patches.
