I don’t play anything other than the Sims 4 and NHL 2019, which I have only for sentimental reasons. So I don’t know about other gaming communities and their issues.
What I do know is that it’s so infuriating to be a lifelong Sims player, only to consistently get updates that break the game. For the first time in my 20 years of playing the Sims, I’m playing one generation from birth until death. I’m finally trying out the elder stage. Before the update, my Sims were about 25 days away from death. Now I can’t open the game without them dying immediately, and any official advice I’ve seen is to hold off and play a different save file. (The advice about setting the lifespan to normal doesn’t seem to help me, probably because I changed the age lengths with MCC, which is outdated ATM. I accept responsibility for this aspect of my frustrations as someone who chooses to mod their game, but the fact that aging breaks after an update from EA is insane).

I’m just so disheartened and honestly upset. This is bad timing on my part, I guess, but I just bought a brand new MacBook in anticipation for this update and the new high school pack. My old 2015 MacBook Air was struggling to run the game so I decided to take the plunge and invest in a new computer. I finally install and update my game, and I can’t even play it how I want.
I don’t know how this is acceptable, so I’m curious if other gaming communities deal with as much BS as we Simmers do. Maybe it’ll give me peace of mind knowing we’re not alone.
