Hi all! I made a necklace I am very satisfied with using only Blender 2.8, I just need to transfer the weights from the ea necklace i used as my reference As of now the necklace itself has no weights or GEOM cuts so I would like to know the correct way to do this. One method I tried was exporting the necklace as .obj, opening the ea necklace in blender 2.79, importing the .obj, then following this tutorial, then I changed the cut of my .obj necklace to 0000, I saved the .blend but it doesn’t load in s4s

You need to transfer weights from EA's top, not from the necklace. To open your file in earlier versions of Blender you need to append it from the file made in 2.80. Without seeing the files there is no way to tell what is wrong with them.

Here is the I'm 110% sure that I f'd up in a big way somehow, fyi I join the plane, text, torus, and bezier circle if that effects anything

Hi. When you navigate The Sims 4 Studio to Blender's location in the settings, the software drops io_sims.py in _:\______\Sims4Studio\Blender\Scripts\. This plugin introduces a menu where you can input type and cut numbers, which is how s4s understands what 3d models to import from the blend file and in what order. There are many differences between certain versions of Blender, so this plugin does not work for all of them or all people. It does work with 2.76 for everyone, which is why we always recommend this version of Blender as a bridge. The file you shared with us is empty when opened in a compatible version, which is a sign that it was made in 2.8+ versions. If you are still importing this file in s4s, then you misunderstood what Feyona said. You need to export the blend file, open it in the compatible version, File - Append - file made in 2.8+ - object - the meshgroups you need, assign type and cut numbers. If you shared the wrong file but still fail to import the one made in 2.79, then you should install 2.76 instead. 2.79 is not a stable version in that sense.
