Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to easily recategorize Buy Mode items.
What you will need
Sims 4 Studio v. 2.4.0.4 (Love) or above
Instructions
1. Create your object recolor/mesh or open the object .package using the My Projects button. Choose the function that you want for the object using the checkboxes. You can pick categories and sub-categories. If you want all swatches in the .package to have the same function category just change the first one and then click the Apply To All Swatches button.
2. Choose the color if you want to change it from what it is. You can use the apply to all swatches feature here too but, if your swatches are different colors, you can just click the next swatch and choose a different color. If a swatch has more than one color you can check off multiple colors too.
3. Use the scroll bar on the right side to scroll through all the available object categories. Clicking on the small down arrow to the left of a category will expand it so you can see the check boxes for all the sub-categories available for that category.
4. When you're done selecting the categories, sub-categories, and colors click the Save button and check your item in the game. If you have any questions about this tutorial please post in this thread.

Is it possible to organize CC in the catalog so that it appears AFTER EA objects? I had re-categorized some CC into Deco Misc but now the EA ottomans are kind of lost in the mix.

I am getting certain cc items (mostly walls and floors) that when I open them they open as only "warehouse" without having the "studio" tab. Can I still edit its placement?

I have a question that seems to be a mystery, what box do I need to check to make an item show up in the toddler category in game. I have tried all of your kid categories and nothing works, it's driving me nuts lol.

Hi mystictrance, there is a toddler tag that you need to select, but it is not present on the Studio tab yet (we didn't know it was there, and no one reported its absence before you). Usually, people point stuff like this out right away so new tags can be added, so it's surprising to discover this now. Anyway, this tag will be added to the Studio tab in the next update of Studio. For now, you can find it in the Warehouse in the Object Catalog resource under Tags. If you have problems finding it, let me know, and I can post a picture for you.

Quick question, I am re-categorizing my CC and was wondering what tab do I have to select to move things into the roof sculptures section?

Hi Kementari, I'm not sure which items you want to move your item to join. If you mean the group of things like the Shaped Mission Roof Parapet, I think you need the Build_RoofAttachment tag. This is another that is not on the Studio tab yet, so it needs to be added in the Warehouse. If this is not the kind of item you're talking about, please give the name of an item that is in the group you want to add your item to. I'm adding a picture showing how to add a tag that way since this is the second question in a short time where the answer is adding a tag through the Warehouse. I doubt that the method for adding tags in the Warehouse is common knowledge at this point. You're welcome mystictrance

Thank you so much for replying orangemittens. I have to admit I am a total newbie when it comes to doing anything like this. I downloaded some CC skylights and what I am trying to do is move them from the Deco/misc section to the roof sculptures section in my game. I am a bit of a organizing nutcase and they are bugging me being there. There are 8 or so items in the set and 3 are already in the roof section but they are ALL in the Deco/misc section too. Ugh i hope I am making sense. Basically I downloaded this set here and the 3 Chesham skylights are showing up in game both in the Deco/misc and Roof Sculptures sections. The skylights and beams from this set here are just showing up in the Deco/misc section in game. I am trying to make them all only show in the roof sculptures section in game.

Hi Kementari, open Sims 4 Studio and click the My Projects button on the front screen. Navigate to where you have one of the packages that is showing up in both the Deco/misc and Roof sculpture sections. When Studio opens it, look above the model viewer (the blue area where the item is displayed). You will see two tabs there. Click the Warehouse tab. Once the Warehouse opens, click one of the Object Catalog lines (this step corresponds to step 1 in the illustration I posted above). Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to scroll through the contents of the Object Catalog resource until you find the Tags field (corresponds to step 2 in the illustration above). Click the grey box that says Edit Items (you will see several - you want to click the one that is on the same line as the word Tags). This will make the "Editing Tags" box pop up. On the left you will see a list of all the tags the item has. If there is one you don't want, you can select that line and click the Remove button below. Make sure you note the name of the roof deco tag that you keep. This tag is the one you need to add to the other items that are failing to show up in the section you want them in. If you make changes (like removing a tag), be sure to click all the save buttons to save the change you made. Once you've removed the tag from that package, repeat the steps for the other packages and add/remove tags as needed.

Thank you so much orangemittens I am trying it out right now as I type this, I will let you know if I succeed or not lol. I have a bunch of other questions that have been coming up as I sort my stuff out, is there a proper place for me to ask? Should I make a new thread somewhere? Edit: It worked! I am a happy camper :D Thank you so much you have no idea how much that was triggering my OCD lol Edit 2: I spoke too soon, out of the 7 objects I did, 5 are showing up and 2 are not :( I checked the ones that aren't showing up and they have the same tags as the ones that are, I am at a loss lol Edit 3: I figured it out! I had only changed the tag on one of the Object Catalog lines (there were 4) I guess the ones that were showing up I must of changed the first swatch of the object and the ones that were not I changed the second swatch. I also noticed on the ones that did show up that if i changed the color on them I couldn't use the clone tool on that color. I went back in and changed all of the Object Catalog lines on each item and now they are working perfectly Yay go me! Thank god it only had 4 colors lol

I really apologize for failing to mention that all Object Catalog entries need to be changed for each item I'm sorry you had to find that out by trial and error, but I'm glad you got things working. If you run into questions that aren't covered by a specific tutorial, please feel welcome to open a thread in the Creator Help section about them.

I am having an issue finding any objects to select when clicking on the my projects button, do I need to add the cc item I wish to change the tag of into one of the folders that show up? They all seem to be organization folders listed in alphabetical order with nothing in them, or am I in the wrong spot? Sorry never done this before, I am a noob in this area lol

Hola: ya empece a reclasificar todos mis CC, pero cuando hago los cambios correspondientes y le doy salvar al archivo y vuelvo a revisar, en algunos archivos se ven su imagen y en otros ya no se ve la imagen ¿porque pasa esto? ¿Hice algo mal?
Gracias por su paciencia y ayuda.
Hello: I started to reclassify all my CC, but when I make the corresponding changes and I save the file and go back to review, in some files your image is seen and in others you can not see the image, why does this happen? Did I do something wrong?
Thanks for your patience and help.

Hello, I hope I'm writing in the right post. I'm trying to rearrange the swatches of a file I downloaded so that they appear in the catalog in a certain order (white and next grey). I manually reordered the colors of the file via s4s as I had done for the previous ones but strangely this time it didn't work. In the game catalog the second swatch (grey) remains the first to appear. How can I do? Thanks for your help. ibb.co/4jhMSnTPs.(edit) I just realized that the swatches don't have thumbnails... but if I go to insert them manually the situation doesn't change... the gray is always the first although it is second in the order.
