Ladies, please no fights . EA used to use 9000 number, that's why it was on the list. They also use different sort layer number for one of the shadows, at least they used it 2 years ago. They keep changing things without informing creators. Sims 4 Studio does updates whenever EA changes something, so why not this list, right? All I did was pointing it out and look what reply I‘ve got for just sharing an info several MONTH later *smh* Again, thanks for updating the list. Because we are not comparing religiously every single thing that EA has changed with our tutorials and lists after each patch. People has been using these numbers for years since EA had them for years, all content perfectly works.

Hey everyone! Coming in hot & late in September 2020 lol. Also using a Mac so I'm using the latest version of S4S Apple Blossom. I'm wondering something similar for the sequencing using the Mac version. I can't seem to locate where the ' Sort Layer ' is. (atrb_partsz) I'm really hopeful that someone in this thread will know where I can find this on the mac version, that would be awesomely helpful! TIA!

Please, I have a problem. I am creating a face mask, I followed all the steps but I feel that something is wrong when doing the steps in sims4studio. I was guided by tutorials and in all of them they say that you have to put 2100 in Skin Details Mole (Right Cheek) But it doesn´t work! It does not appear in the game. I hope your help :(

Question about this; I was trying to follow the steps but what I want to do is create a cc clothing item that was designed as underwear but I want the Sim to wear it outside their clothing. When I filter on Custom Content, nothing shows up. The "My CC" does show my custom content of course, but I can't figure out within there how to change the layer. Please advise?

Please advise? jonnysims you need to copy the cc clothing package file from your game Mods folder into the Sims 4 Studio Mods folder (C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Mods) then you will see it when filtering to custom content in order to clone it.

Hi! I know it's been awhile since this post was active, but hopefully someone can help. I don't create content, I just edit it for use in my own game so I don't understand all the workings of layers, etc. I have two necklaces I'd like to put on my Sim. Putting one on removes the other. Is there a way to make it so my Sim can wear both?

Is there a way to make it so my Sim can wear both? It can not be solved with sort layers. A simple answer is no, you can't make a sim wear 2 necklaces. A long answer is that it is possible only if you know how to work in blender, how to move uv maps, how to move the textures and then you can change the category from the necklace to something else (brow ring for example). But then edited necklace will conflict with another custom item by overlapping the textures.

Hey people, I'm creating a feather collar at a dress and wanna know if has some way that changing the sort layer it can overlap the hair, because at the moment the hair overlaps the collar and "erases" it. I used transparency to feathers and I know that hairs have transparency too.

katarinamartian this is how simglass shader works when 2 items with transparency collide. There is no way around it and CAS sort later controls only the way diffuse overlap each other but not the meshes. You can't really fix it. There always will be this glitch either from the front or from the back depends on cas sort layer of the diffuse. But you can't fix it.

Hi, I made some bodyhairs but whenever sims get tan the hair gets lighter as if that tan is overlaying it. Can anyone tell me how can i fix that? Most likely composition method is the culprit. It's located in CAS Part like Sort layer. Search for the composition method and change from whatever number is it to 0.

The Warehouse Tab -> CAS part -> search composition method. Also, check sort layer number. I suspect it should be 1100 (lower number means that it it will be on top of other textures. Skin overlays have sort layer 2100. Don't make it lower than 1050, otherwise it will overlay mermaid tails if your texture intersects with mermaid uv layout (where the legs are).

Changing the sort layer is done through the warehouse on each "CAS part". There is a CAS Part for each swatch and the sort layer will need to be changed for each one so, if at all possible, change the sort layer before adding a lot of swatches. Once you've changed the sort layer on the first swatch each swatch you add after that based on the first swatch will have the sort layer you gave the first. The Warehouse sorts sections within a resource in alphabetical order. Sort layer is down toward the bottom in the right hand panel: Item | Sort Layer | necklace/rings | 17100
| untucked shirt/full body | 16000 | pants/skirts | 14000 | bikinis | 14000 | tucked in shirt | 13000 | hair | 12000 | hat/helmet | 11000 | shoes | 10700 | tight/socks | 10500 | underwear
| 10400 | facepaint | 7500 | beard | 8300 | eyebrows | 7000 | blush | 5600 | lipstick | 5500 | eye liner | 5300 | eye shadow | 5200 | eye | 4000 | tattoo | 3000 | skin detail | 2100
| mermaid tail | 1050 | earrings/glasses | 0 |
First off, Hello! And thank you for providing this! Do you know the sort numbers for the new things EA added since this post was made? Like nail polish scars, and body hair for example?
