Actually, the trick I was talking about was the in-game one described here. That should be accessible to basically anyone; the fix you're talking about sounds like something I should be able to do no problem (other than the fact that I download like a fiend, so the task of updating all my CC windows and doors is probably bigger than Peacemaker and Mutske's combined workload), but many other players wouldn't even consider trying it.

Oh man, half of me is dreading the December patch now. I don't mind losing my CC skintones so much because what's coming should be adequate to replace it, but I love love loooove my CC makeup and I know it is also going to get absolutely busted when they add sliders.

Hi, is there any way to play without updating the game? I am tired of EA errors with every patch. >:(

Hi, long-time lurker, first post! I don't usually bother about glitches etc as the Sims community and EA are usually able to resolve issues fairly quickly. I loaded up the game for the first time in a while and noticed a peculiar bug with stairs. The sides seem to invert and stretch in a parallel fashion. I've tried all stairs and they are the same. Anyone else come across the same issue? It definitely wasn't there before the most recent patch. yadi.sk/i/HRWKATw5tB5bvw

I've been downloading some good builds from the gallery with no cc in the meantime. A lot are really pretty. Plus, I recently watched a YT vid showing how to use the TOOL mod as a temporary solution for broken cc windows and doors. I tried it out, and while it's not perfect, it's a doable alternative while we wait.

simmer426 - I have not seen this issue since I updated after the Sep 3rd patch... do you have any cc or mods in your game? I have both (I'm on a PC) and I am not experiencing this glitch and to date, I've not heard about this from others. I did do some searching to see if I could find anyone else with this issue or any help threads related to it and I did not find anything (might be my wording). I suggest clearing your cache files and then doing a Repair Game to see if the issue persists. If it does, you should write up a post here: answers.ea.com/

Thank you both for your reply. I do have CC installed, but nothing I think would interfere with the stairs. Come to think of it, I was doing a build in a different world last night and didn't seem to have the same issue with the stairs I used there. I'm thinking it's a good shout it could maybe be the pillars. I'll play around with it this evening and see if I can identify the issue.

Does anyone know a decent tutorial for fixing the windows and stuff? I don't mind waiting for the batch fix, but I wasn't to fix the ones in builds I actually use.
(I tried the Minc one and it didn't work for me.)

now they broke all the default skintones too. I would recommend not to ever patch the game right away not before looking around and hear/see first what others have to say who auto patch their games. Waiting a few days and read in the forums can prevent from unwanted changes, at least for a while. You can always play offline in time being. I wish I could. I have more than 150 mods active and I need to check the changes.

Hi there! Just updated my game for the 6th October patch and I am no longer able to enable Mods in the game. I can still tick the button in game options however it looks like the game does not register it. I restarted the game and it still says the mods are disabled even though I have enabled it already. Things I tried so far: Removed all CC from Mods folder, enabled Mods in game, restarted the game - no success Repaired the game in Origin - no success And the good old classic - turn PC off and on and still no success. Just wondering if anyone out there is having the same issue? Thank you! Lucie

Oh just fixed it!!
Turned out my Antivirus was blocking the path for the game to access the Mods folder - how odd!
But all is well and good now.
Thank you xx

this patch broke CC default skins...I'm wondering if that can be fixed with a batch fix or we'll just have to wait for new ones to be made?
