I fixed my round windows and the same small cracks remain. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if this is what round windows will look like from now on... (click ton enlarge)

All this for the privilege of stacking windows, I was quite happy the way it was, I haven't played my game in weeks, I just can't be bothered since all the doors and windows are borked what's the point. I think now is the time to think about buying future packs if this happens all the time.

I think now is the time to think about buying future packs if this happens all the time. This was not related to the pack itself but an across-the-board change to the base game to accommodate a pack. Doesn't matter if we did or did not purchase the Star Wars pack, it's affecting everyone.

I get they cannot keep CC in mind when releasing patches, but their own content should work properly, and if it doesn't they should fix it quickly. This kind of sloppiness is the reason why I am seriously considering not buying their games anymore. If I spend hundreds of euros in your products, I do not expect such poor service.

Comparing to my uploaded rounded EA arch pics above, maybe that is really what they will look from now on. Great improvement EA! If a gaming site posted an in-depth review of how this update broke everything (actual fantasy: this being the opening story on ABC Nightly News with David Muir), it might be enough to embarrass EA into applying a fix.
The cynic in me is guessing this is how it's going to be from now on.
I so hope I'm wrong.

I imagine if EA's are looking that shoddy, that's what we're going to have to work with from now on. Can't say I'm surprised with them I'm afraid :(

Can't say I'm surprised with them I'm afraid :( I'm hoping individual creators, and I'm sure there are definitely a few, care enough, certain more than EA cares, to take the time to craft excellent updates. I'm glad none of my mods are custom-created arches, windows, or doors, or I'd be very depressed right now with the work ahead of me.

I hope so too, but I suspect it may be one of these unfortunate EA things that we can't get past. I really hope not though!

Traditional recolours done the right way don't clone the mesh file, so they won't have issues I have to admit though, I was pretty relieved that I at least could use the ATS recolours.

So awkward that this is my first post but... today while attempting to play without using any of the confirmed broken windows, I discovered yet another fun side effect of that windows patch. No matter the window/door, the glass vanishes in a mirror's reflection. At this point I feel like EA simply HAS to address this.

ellymosh Yes, if EA mirrors are not reflecting the working cutouts of EA windows and doors, that's a bug they'll need to fix. I'm not sure if there's already a bug report for it, though it's likely; you should probably look around a little and see if you can find one and "me too" it. (If there's not a report already, you can make one.) Fixing the mirror issue won't affect CC windows and doors (since if the mirror is not reflecting a cutout that is otherwise working fine, the problem is with the mirror, not the cutout) but is still worthwhile. It's possible this might also mean that CC mirrors need a batchfix (depends on whether the problem is at the object tuning level, or someplace higher up; the former would need a batchfix while the latter should not), but if so it should be a relatively simple one similar to other previous batchfixes, not the kind of complex one the windows and doors need.

I know how you feel but CC is optional. The sims company clearly state back since ts3 days that cc IS NOT supported. And whatever happens with it is on us. I just feel it is wrong people keep jumping on them about breaking cc when they are nice enough to allow us to mod it and make cc for it. Heck some people are even selling and making a living from the cc and mods. I understand your frustration. I cannot even update until this is fixed and I am very anxious about it! But I just want to be clear that it's not EA's job to fix this. Listen, say what you want about cc being optional. Ofcourse it is, BUT CC creators are the reason why I even play the sims. They are the reason the sims franchise even gets my money. The game without cc, I simply would not play... so if The sims team doesnt do better with helping cc flourish and not breaking it, I will simply not play anymore and boycott them. SO, You can save your ignorant comments regarding them not having to support cc. Because they SHOULD for people like me. The guy who said he was planning to sue EA for breach of contract over the 3 or so EA windows and doors that have the same purely visual issue as most un-updated CC windows and doors was funnier. (And yes, it is purely visual. Literally the only thing that will happen if you play with un-updated CC windows and doors is that you won't be able to see through them. There's even a trick for putting a similar cutout from an EA window or door, or a CC one that's already using the new cutout system, on the same wall segment as an un-updated one until you can update it, so anyone who can live with the fact that they might not be able to find a really fantastic match for every shape can even see through them already while they wait for updates.)
