How do we know which items at TSR are updated? I will start with a few of my fav's but it seems a bit hit-and-miss.
Andrew, Thank you in advance for tackling a job that should have been done by the people who messed it all up in the first place. I have written to them and told them they have basically rendered the game "unplayable" by so many of us. Having given us the SW junk, and ruining the wall for us, is just further evidence that the people at Sims 4 could care less about what we want or how we enjoy their game.
Had I know this was going to happen, I would have turned off "auto update" from the start.
However, I fear, that the next stuff-, expansion- or game-pack would have done the same, so getting a batch fix now would be a god-send. Thanks again for trying to fix this for us.

I know how you feel but CC is optional. The sims company clearly state back since ts3 days that cc IS NOT supported. And whatever happens with it is on us. I just feel it is wrong people keep jumping on them about breaking cc when they are nice enough to allow us to mod it and make cc for it. Heck some people are even selling and making a living from the cc and mods. I understand your frustration. I cannot even update until this is fixed and I am very anxious about it! But I just want to be clear that it's not EA's job to fix this.

Sometimes I think this is why EA does this. IF just to screw them since they are breaking the TOU even about CC. Cause most often they upload bullshit or string people along and will refuse to fix it until the team here has a fix. (puke)

I just downloaded a bunch of the windows and doors that said "Updated September 15 2020" on them and still, none of them work. I tried a few different creators too, they're still all broken. Rachelcmakeup - did you clear your cache files? There are a few build cc creators who have manually updated their windows/doors/arches but you will need to clear your cache files and repair your game once you have overwritten the old files for the changes to take effect. I did and they still don’t work. The ones on TSR that I have say they’re updated (like Mutske’s) but when you redownload and install them they still don’t work.

Hi, I'm having a major issue! I just installed the expansion pack Get Together and some of the windows and doors that came with the game aren't coming through. Also a lot of the custom windows and doors are not coming through either. Had I remembered about the patch, I would've waited a while before buying a new expansion pack.

I then organized and updated based on the notes from the creators at The Sims Resource, [like the Mutske doors, windows and arches]. Then I went into my game and those updated doors, windows and arches are not showing up correctly either. Additionally, some of the Maxis doors don't work all that well either. I am noticing a thin, clear space above some of the doors.

Nope - cleared the game cache and repaired my game...doors, windows and arches still don't work with the updated Mutske sets. I will continue to wait patiently for the batch fix.

I realize most of the people who need to see this probably won't... but keep in mind that the reason all these windows and doors are broken right now has nothing whatsoever to do with Star Wars, or trying to get money from players, and everything to do with the fact that they added a cool new feature -- as a free update for every player no matter what packs they already have or buy in the future -- to windows and doors that everyone will probably enjoy once we've been able to get things updated, but which involved changing something about how those objects work in order to accomplish it. Unlike some of the past changes to how an object type works, this one doesn't even make the CC cause any actual game problems -- you the player can't see through CC windows and arches right now, and thus they also look funny if you want to take pictures, but the game doesn't crash, the objects don't disappear or cause errors, your Sims don't even know anything is wrong (the windows let light into rooms, the doors let Sims walk through them, etc.), and there's even a technique to let you place a similarly sized and shaped wall cutout in the same place as your CC wall or door so that you can still see through that spot as well. The only thing anyone really can't do right now is take certain screenshots or videos exactly as planned due to the content looking funny. There are plenty of things to actually complain about with EA, but I don't really consider this one of them; it's a temporary annoyance, and if you aren't playing right now, the person who's stopping you is you. (Doesn't mean you can't still be unhappy that the specific kind of playing you want to do is impeded, but lots of the things people do in TS4 are either not affected or affected very little and I suspect some people are avoiding doing things that are not actually affected much because they think they can't do them. If you can live with things looking a little off for a little while, go play!) (This is the trick for using EA windows to place working wall cutouts over CC windows: maxismatchccworld.tumblr.com/post/628598286123778048/softpine-how-to-temporarily-fix-cc-windowsSome windows will not have an existing wall cutout that fits well, and of course you may still be able to see the very small resized EA window, so it won't fix everything for everyone, but if you aren't trying to set up screenshots/videos or can futz with your sets and staging to keep any visible issues out of the shot, it's a decent stopgap.)

I don't know if this can be useful to figure a fix out or not... probably not, but I see people posted not working doors and windows in great number already... I have two working, curved doors in my game that haven't been updated but weren't affected by the patch, here they are: drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B0P_NQUrlfGkTFdZYzRNc0RwX1E?usp=sharingI don't remember where I got them originally. Those are Coffinfit's work, and they are EA doors (from RoM) turned into arches. Their cutouts work in my game too... but it's quite possible the reason why they work is that they reference the EA door in a way that allows them to use the new cutout from the EA door. CoffinFit do you happen to know? Also, y'all who are talking about TSR items supposedly being updated, where are you finding any of this? I can't find anything about it by Googling, looking in likely-seeming places on the site, or checking their Twitter/FB feeds. I also checked Mutske's profile and there's nothing written there except a note about waiting for a batchfix, and I checked a few individual sets and saw no signs of updating either. (To be specific: is there any source for this other than the one person who said so here? And what method are you using to identify sets that have actually had recent updates? I'd be happy to test things in my nice clean testing game, but so far this sounds like one person giving bad info.)

Thank you so much for the clarification! Many people really need to know this. A lot of people I heard on different sites seem to think EA is trying to spite them by making the game "unplayable" lol. I want star wars but I have been playing without the patch because I though the cc windows might crash my game or something really buggy. Now that you have explained it and provided this alternative temporary solution I just might update. I do take a lot of screen shots but this really gives me something to think about. Thanks!!

Oh my goodness, I caused quite a ruckus in here! My apologies! The information about windows and doors came from a reliable creator at TSR and when I checked notes on some of Mutske's items, it said its has been updated on 15th September 2020. I was super excited to share this will you all as I know we are all itching to be able to see through windows again. It wasn't till this morning when I actually checked it in my game just to find out the glitch is still there. I do apologize if this upset anyone, I meant no harm.

It's strange that the lovely Get Together arched, stained glass window and the arched, stained glass door are also broken. Who else is experiencing this?
Could this mean that the Sims team themselves could in fact fix this PAINFUL breakage of windows and doors? Wishful thinking?

About this issue with GT Pack, please someone knows a thread/topic in EA to report this issue so we can vote in "Me Too"? Maybe that's what is causing the issue with all cc windows. They couldn't even fix their own vanilla ones. It's INCREDIBLE what a paid staff team CANNOT ACCOMPLISH if compared with NOPAID/FREE CC CREATORS/MODDERS DO ACOMPLISH in their place. LOL

Could this mean that the Sims team themselves could in fact fix this PAINFUL breakage of windows and doors? Wishful thinking? It is true that some vanilla windows are not working either which is why i do not understand the complete silence from EA and non-CC simmers. They are actually in breach right now for offering a broken product, regardless of CC working or not, vanilla content which we all paid for should always work or be repaired within a certain timeline. In Europe it would fall under the e-commerce law. I am not in the USA otherwise I would have gathered a crowd and filed a lawsuit against EA. It is ridiculous. It has been 14 days (2 weeks) by now that some vanilla doors and windows (and CC) are broken. I can't imagine they did not notice so many players not playing their game for the past 2 weeks! I also see a lot of people defending EA over the fact that they do not support CC but if you allow an option in your game for Scriptmods and CC, you need to make sure that these option are workable on your platform regardless. If a Mod or CC is broken due to the fault of the creator, it is indeed the task of the creator to fix it. If a mod or CC is broken because of EA coding, they have a responsibility to adjust coding for mods and CC to start working again. IF they will not keep scriptmods and CC in mind when coding and altering the game, then they should not allow the option to be in the game in the first place. That is my opinion but hey, what do i know about running a business right...
