This is a buyable/placeable portal object (that was originally a debug object) that you can put on any lot. The portal transports you to the magic realm just as if your sim had gone to Glimmerbrook and used the portal there. Realm of Magic Game Pack required.
1. The portal takes you to the Magic Realm, but once there, the corresponding default portal in the Magic Realm returns you to its default location (Glimmerbrook). 2. To place the portal inside a building, the floor you set it on must be set to the tallest floor type. 3. The portal is located in the catalog under Doors / infinity and costs 1 simolean.
Important: If you decide to move the portal from where you originally placed it in your game, you must wait approximately 30 seconds worth of running, live, in-game time before the swirly inner portion of the portal catches up to the portal's new location. Just be sure you're in live mode and not paused while you wait for the swirly part to move.
Available Recolors - 12 swatches in all (texture on the far left is the original):
Enjoy!

The book case took me the better part of a day to do, mostly for applying high-resolution actual book spines to the books on the shelves. Shown is the default on the left and the recolor on the right:
All pieces with cushions have 16 swatches. On the armless dining chairs, I added a linen alpha mask on the cushions to give them added texture:

So the only way I know while in build mode to change a light to the desired light color is go to live mode, put a Sim on the lot, and then manually change the light, and if you then go back into build mode and see that you've forgotten to change a light, you must repeat the process for that light. If there's another way to do it without going to live mode, do tell.
So in the interim, I took some of the lights that I use most often for arcades, bars, etc., and set their default light color to a dark red (even the darkest reds come out pinkish). For most of them, I did not play with the housing textures.
So now, rather than having to go through the rigamarole of putting a Sim on the lot I'm building just to flip light colors, I can grab one of these while in build mode and carry on. I may make other light colors in the future, like blue. We'll see.
The lights are individual packages in the zip download rather than merged into one package (in case you don't have a given expansion). These are standalone, not overrides.
Each light costs 1 simolean.
Enjoy!
