I tried googling this question but everything I found pertains to recoloring or using the design tool. I hope no one minds me asking here and that I've done so in the correct place. I have several cc objects in my game that give me a script call failed error when I'm trying to place them. As far as I know none of them require GTW or another pack that I don't have. I've got the base game and the Outdoor Retreat pack. An example: ATS has a kitchen deco set and the tray gives me the error. Many other objects that do this are converted from other Sims games. Is there a fix for this? Did I forget a mesh? Sorry if this has been asked, i did try to look. lol!

The ATS has a kitchen deco set are you sure it was for Sims 4 and not Sims 3? Can you give a link to the download so I can test it?

Ok I found the download. It is a problem with how it was created in TSR. It was most likely created before TSR fixed there script error with recolors. Any cc that was made before the script call failure problem was solved would have to be fixed by the creator. Until then the design tool still can't be used on it and the only way to change the color used is to rebuy the object and select the new color option.

Its not when I try to change the color. Its when I try to place it. I click on it in the catalog and try to put it in the house, it disappears and then the script error shows. Thank you very much for responding! I hope I've made sense. I knew about the problems with the design tool. It happens when I'm simply trying to purchase and place it tho.

Can you link the package so I could test it? The one I tested from ATS worked fine.

It's no problem taking time to get back. I'm on here all the time.
So I tested that package and all of them worked with no script error. But it did slow down my pc and they were the only CC I had in my mods folder. All I can say is check the ones you say give you a script error on their own. Meaning only have them in your mods folder and nothing else. It might be a conflict with another cc you own.

mmekare79, Sims 4 Studio does not support items made with tsrw. If you're having trouble with an item made using that tool you're best off asking over at their Creator Help or bug thread forum

Thank you, countrykris, for your help. I will do what you've suggested. I certainly appreciate you taking the time!
Orange Mittens, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to know what programs creators use to make their objects. I simply thought that the people here seemed so knowledgeable and could know what was causing the problem. I'm sorry if my asking for help somehow offended you. I don't create for Sims 4 therefore I have no clue what programs are used by anyone for it. It's a little off-putting that you've reacted this way when I was simply trying to get help solving a game problem that I know nothing about. If there's some kind of rivalry between different programs I know nothing about it and didn't intend to ask in the (apparently) wrong forum. I just wanted help with my game and thought that this forum would be my best chance at solving the problem. Next time Ill ask elsewhere.

Hey, mmekare79 - Orange Mittens is doing her Job as the Admin for Sims4Studio. I don't see anything wrong in her statement....why not join the Fun and try the Tool - Make your own stuff and you will appreciate the difference between the 2 Tools, not to mention the Help. Rock On!

mmekare79, I understand why you asked initially and I'm not sure why my helpful answer causes you such angst. If something was made with a different tool it's kinda obvious that this isn't the best place to trouble shoot problems with it. You were helpfully informed that the item wasn't made using Sims 4 Studio so this really isn't the best place to get help with it. If you're a player having problems with an item I would recommend letting the creator know. They can help you with it and, if the issue is a bug with the tool that made it, they can report that to the tool maker. This is in everyone's best interest. If an item made with Studio was causing problems I would definitely want that reported here...I have no doubt other tool makers in the community feel the same way. We're all trying to provide a tool that makes things correctly and we all want to know if what we're doing isn't working.

orangemittens I only guessed that the problem was with an item made in TSR. Because one that was mentioned was from ATS and that person uses TSR. But the one I tested I have no clue what program was used to make it. So I would not fault someone for asking here.

I don't fault anyone either. But I will say that if a player has a problem with a custom content creation then the best place to start with trouble shooting is with the creator.

Can you get a script failed on an object that's for an expansion you don't own?
