Of course I'd assume everyone here on this website enjoys the Sims 4 being here at Sims 4 Studio. Old story with this I know, but since this isn't youtube comments and people aren't going to rant and rave all over the place what they did or didn't get. What was your first impression of the Sim's 4?
I really love the style of the Sims 4 though I didn't really care for the price of the game EA decided to slap on. Definitely should have held off for the origin sale prices, but the graphics certainly have my favor and Sims finally being able to multitask so many things is just fttt--yes. I do see a lot of potential for the Sims 4 and with the updates we get and knocking down those stuff packs (which I hope they continue to do) for 9.99US and then the game pack for 19.99US I see that as good business planning. With the sims 3 being pretty fun when it worked the realistic type look to them were kinda ugly though I also blame the terrible shadowing/lighting in the game too.
I see a lot of reminiscing of the Sims 1 and 2 in the Sims 4 though the old Maxis we knew and love is pretty much dead (The ones that did Sims 1 & 2). I'd love to see a lot more stuff that was in the Sims 2 in the Sims 4. For 3? I didn't really care so much for the sandbox style since it lagged my game after a few expansion packs later.
But more animations would be great. I'm surprised we didn't get a slow dance between couples or anything. I'm really hoping for a Hot date/ Late Night type expansion next.
But what do you guys think? Some say they're hinting at a pet's expansion, which I really wouldn't expect to go with on second choice. Seasons would even be great since weather has such an effect on everyday life. I just want to see it rain~

I liked World Adventures. I mean, come on, it added THREE worlds and there were so many adventures and treasures! Although the adventures could become buggy sometimes, but I think I had a mod that fixed it.
I liked the skills that came with Night Life but mixology and musical instruments are in Sims 4 base game now. Apartment living was dreadful though, because of how weird the camera acted inside. I didn't care for celebrity status, and vampires were just the worst. They were much more vampire looking in Sims 2. In Sims 3 you couldn't tell a vampire from a regular sim, and the only indication there's a vampire around would be a negative moodlet. I wish vampires were more feared and hated, like mummies, yet some pre made vampires had that ridiculous celebrity status, and some were even vegetarian! It's like the creators have never read a book/seen a movie about vampires.
I'd love it if they added extra decks like the ones in Sims 2 Open for Business expansion. Especially if you could manage the height. It's the building feature I miss the most. I always made interesting floor plans with those, combined with regular foundation/deck tool it allowed for some better management of stairs. Currently we're back to one straight flight of stairs only.
I also kind of miss the sims playing musical instruments together. The parties were always a blast when you had a bunch of sims over and just played music. Sometimes uninvited sims would come over too, with a plate of something disgusting, like tofu dogs, and complain that your party sucks, just because they don't even know your sim. (Well they're the ones bringing tofu dogs, so who's ruining the party here?!) Nowadays the parties are boring, all about eating and talking. Well except for weenie roasts, because those have a high chance of fire and drama ;P

I totally skipped Sims 3 since I didn't like the way sims looked. Especially I hated that round reflection in the eyes. But I was a true sims 2 fan so I gave a shot to Sims 4 when it just came out. I played for a few days but didn't feel it and came back around 3 weeks ago and now I'm in love with sims again. Of course I was bummed when I didn't find toddlers, EA had plenty of time since autumn to work on this age group. Toddler should have been included in basic game at the beginning. So first of all I am waiting for this to be fixed and sorry, I don't want to buy it as hot tubs for $9.99 or as game pack for $19.99, I think it's not fair to simmers. And also I am dreaming about better lightning. I am playing on laptop in laptop mode (no hope for upgrade in the nearest future), so quality of the picture is bad enough, no need to make it worse . About expansion packs, I would be happy to see the University and late night. I am seriously missing university.

I enjoyed Uni for Sims2 as well, but there were a Ton of Glitches on that EP. The real Glitch Makers were - UNI - SEASONS - and PETS, scrambling around looking for fixes made mostly by, "ThoseTwoJeffs", I believe that's who REALLY fixed most of EA's Glitches, on Sims2.
°I hope that they Fix the Careers to go to Work - The ORIGINAL ONES that came with the Base Disc. I thought that was REALLY SLOPPY, "Here, you can go to Work now - just, with THESE JOBS, not the ones your Sims already has..." - That was beyond Laughable. °Fix the Woo-Hoo interaction to stop the Popping out of anima call - Still can't understand why that started going down 2 updates back.(?)
My Guess is that the Next EP will have Cars involved - They're already Zooming around everywhere, hopefully a Semi-Open World will be involved with that. There are a lot of Issues with those Debug Cars, on Modding them - will be interesting to see what, "Fresh Prince", has for that....if he's still around(?).
Whatever it ends up containing - Always Controversial with Everyone.

Not sure about the cars. I know everybody wants a car in the game but I feel that it's missing much more basic stuff than cars which honestly will be just another expensive animated object since sims don't drive through neighborhoods, they just vanish at the end of the house zone. EA recently posted a lot of illustrations about sims standing in the line to the cinema. Feels like they are giving out a hint about next EP.

First of all , even if I sometimes play the sims 4 I am not a fan at all for now, too earlier for having a really love crush on. * I am not here to criticize the game or to open a drama*.
I just think this conversation is useful to share ideas of EPs we really need or wish.
To me a sims game is not complete without seasons and pets, and myself I expect the pets Eps soon.Maybe as EP3 not yet.I am sure the gurus work on something else less attractive for the veteran players as I am and more suitable for the new generation of simmers , the teenagers this game seems to target (my own thoughts).
My deception is also about the family . I don't expect an family Eps but something that make the relashionship between the children and the parents more accessible.I noticed the sims who have not the family trait can't play with their own children with the doll houses .The rest of the sims people doesn't access to parentality very well.Maybe a kind of Generation EPs with more social interactions for the non family traits sims and their children will complete the lack of true family relashionship, of course with playgrounds, and co ! Without destroying the spirit of the game more oriented and focused on young adult/adult ages than around the kids.Just fixing the whole things adding some interactions more.
Why not adding a freetime EP I think that this EP suits perfectly with the sims 4 spirit.Supernatural can fit it too and WA/Bon voyage, as it's easier to travel town to town with this game why not dig the ideas.
no late night and Showtime but cars I am afraid they won't put them into the game due to the small city map, however bikes can fit better karaoke stuffs why not !
so taking past ideas as WA/Bon voyage , Pets,Seasons, Generations, Supernatural and Freetime will be perfect.
But those I expected the most is the gurus create hitherto seen EP/SP as they do with Island Paradise and Into the Future because TS4 is a completely new game so we need be surprised and to be sometimes off from the TS ,TS2 and TS3 remakes. Well we can't really expected of what the gurus are working on but if they read this topic do not forget the gulf's holes in Oasis Spring it'll be aweome if you can develop that !

I was hugely into s2 over s3 too. Sims 3 always murdered my computer, all the sims had the same overly round face in my game with the same too soft features. I didnt even bother with most expansion packs until i got them in bundles on sale. Still barely played. So i am perfectly fine with scrapping the giant neighborhoods, and create a style that couldnt even run on my stuff. The in-app purchase quality of the sims store also bothered me on a level of, well, treating the sims like a facebook game or an app. Though, i'll admit there was some cool thought buried in that game; couldnt experience most of it, but they thought out a lot. For s4, love the style shift; the s3 attempts at realism were uncanny valley at best, especially withe mad same face. The s4 style is playful and smooth. I also bought s4 a bit late, waiting for a sale and to see just how much they were doing in these patches. It made it very worth it to buy it by the time i did. Though i'd like to have toddlers already, I think the fact that they seem to be planning to add them in a patch is encouraging to the idea of a distant possibility to add a preteen life stage. I'm sure the interactions will build up over time with all the EPs & GPs but i'm down with that
things i'd love to see: university, skateboarding (not that i expect it), graffiti skill to come back (never got to see it in action in s3), preteens (half because that would be a really interesting stage, half because the jump from child to adult height is jarring), more interactive game play (the dungeon crawling was neat), something totally new, more teen actions (sneaking out, a lot of the generations things), circular roofs, more ways to die, a way to have 2 different foundation heights on a lot (my shed cant be 3ft in the air, amirite?), cars, & everything

I loved 1. It was hilarious, madcap fun. With 1 there was little point to the game and it was fun seeing adults dominate the play. I NEED a dance cage.
Personally, I just want Generations to come because it will quiet the people who want infants sorry not sorry.
Personally, I don't mind plunking smaller amounts on game and stuff packs, but they need to be substantial or interesting. I don't feel like I need to buy everything as the clothes can be modded for the base game. I will likely get patio and spa day.
Expansions I want to see: I really want the Sims 1 Superstar celebrity system back, I thought they did it the best. Sims 2 university was quicker and easier than 3.
I loath pets again sorry not sorry, but I wish they would bring infants before pets.
They need seasons. Sims 2 was great of what I had (Mac player and by the time the ending packs came out, I moved on).
4 has been great. Tons of improvements and the modding community is brighter. Personally, some of the omissions have been okay with me, granted I came in about ~5-7 months after release. They brought more madcap, but there needs to be more. That is why I miss the first one sooooooo much!

I want to rave and rant about my two favourite age groups that are missing haha! Toddlers and Real teens, not the adult looking ones. And it furstrates me a lot that you are forced to put up with origin and can't realy have disks anymore. I liked my physical collection of sims 2 boxes. But besides that i realy love the style of the game, i never liked the style of 3 that's why i skipped that. And i love the emotions of the sims. I just hope their next expansion pack is going to make me buy it because this get to work doesn't realy interest me at all. I was more charmed by bears and jacuzzis

I am hoping for a Generations style EP/SP with Toddlers, Pre-Teens (that would alleviate the issue with the teens who look like adults from age 12 up by having teens 12-16 be pre-teens and 16-20 be teens), bunkbeds, more play equipment for kids and family activities and more kids skills.
WA/BV with swimmable oceans and rivers-- perhaps combine the two - we already have Outdoor Retreat which is like the Three Lakes hood in BV with camping, and outdoorsy activities like hiking and fishing- so give us a lie on the beach vacation hood and then two extreme adventure vacation type hoods like we got with WA
A basic objects we didn't give you in base game even though they have been present in at least 1:3 of the past 3 Sims games stuff pack or game pack- terrain sculpting, dishwashers, trashcompactors, videogame consoles, home phones (cause people do still have those), driveable cars etc or at least patch those objects in for free like with pools, and basements
Pets-- keep the horses, unicorns cows, chickens, plus cats, dogs, lizards, birds, etc but do away with the random wild or stray animals spawning all over the different hoods- limit the wild animals to the park
Supernatural/Makin Magic - obviously but this time the magic system from Sims 1 that was actually fun instead of the half done systems from Sims 2 and 3.
Apartment Life- urban world, real apartments like in AL, city careers etc
For non redone stuff
A time travel EP where there are two to three historical worlds like Ancient World, Midcentury World, 19th Century world, future world -- have historically appropriate clothing, vehicles, jobs etc for your Sim to wear and do and add historically appropriate activities for example hula hoops, diners for mid century etc

I'm hoping for either university or generations, but I am lowkey longing for apartment life as well.

I've been playing the Sims since 1. Loved 2 to death hated 3 (bought it played for around 4 weeks uninstalled). I think what I wanted from 4 was 2 beautified (super graphics) and streamlined. I do like playing, the worlds are beautiful (wish I could tweak them a bit like 2) and the overall design is good. I do miss awesome parties, thanks to the batbox; and the water tool. I also long for a mod that stops the desperate insecure townies from walking by 24/7 creating massive lag even with my set up. I did have one but its out of date, 3 weeks of pure bliss that was.
I'd like to see University without all the 2 ncps; not really too bothered about the rest. Pets are always cats and dogs, I'd like to have chickens and a few sheep and goats. But I heard that 3 messed up farming with zombies, still wondering about that 18 months on... Not into the supernatural so it won't make me buy, but a few key elements such as lake/sea swimming might. Parties without a boxed timetable and pointless presents after the event (wedding flowers afterwards, huh?) would be good. But we sleep perchance to dream-

I agree that sims 1 magic stuff was way more fun than in sims 2 and i never played sims 3 but i have watched some video of it and the only thing I really liked out of the sims 3 was some of the animations to some things , like vampires had a cool animation and i loved the little pixie fairies riding on trains and sleepin in doll houses i mean thats just adorbs, but sims 1 magic world was just TOO fun. Sometimes i get so caught up in my sims stories and making everything pretty and cluttered I forget what originally attracted me to the sims and that was that it was just FUN to play. Sims 1 had the wine crushing the beeswaxing the spell duels the snake charming and all of it was just super entertaining ( pardon the pun)
I really thought when they gave us the modeling photography thing that a superstar type pack or job was on the way and to my surprise they sorta missed their mark on that one by giving us nothing, i mean it seems that adding a superstar career where you could go to work and just be famous all day woulda been a lot of fun , and sims 1 had a perfect and simple set up for it , it feels like with todays gaming they coulda really made that one something special and glamorous ( i mean they are superstars so it would have to be a bit more fun and less work than the other careers)
toddlers not being in game yet doesnt bug me nearly as much as my lack of dogs and cats, since most of my characters are pet owners but with cc i mean as long as its just for pictures there is cc enough to make do but if i thought id never get a pets/animal expansion id totally protest. Im a huge animal lover and i cant have pets in real life so being able to have the pets in sims is something of a happy spot for me lol. But personally i want to see a more variety of pets if they go through with it, not everyone has dogs and cats some people have lizards, pythons, bunnies, and a guina pig isnt the only rodent to have as a pet either id like to see ferrets or maybe chinchillas , sims 2 had a mod with a few of these things and I adored it, it always amazes me that our player modders are more capable of making the game fun than ea is. Some of yall should get jobs there or something haha.
spa day was my favorite thing added to sims 4 so far, i feel that little pack had delivered the best content and most content for your dollar. My husband is trippin out on the cost of this game for me already i mean 20 bucks here 20 bucks there 9 here 9 there and then the random 30-40 per expansion DX its a lot and its not like we are made of money so saving up my sims addiction is truly a struggle sometimes. It would be nice if they really considered that not everyone can afford these many packs and if they are gonna offer them AT LEAST make them worth my time for saving up to get it like spa day did, cause the other packs , eh, the hottub is the only thing i cared for out of the other packs, clothes and hair might be awesome for people that play with out cc but i dont , i can download clothes and hair all day, i need things i cant download , interactive actions and objects that actually entertain me.
the new expansion get together looks promising but i honestly have not seen much on objects that look new except the dj and the closet. there is some social additives but tbh "clubs" doesnt interest me much , i could change my mind depending on how they create it but I want realistic interactive social activities that were common place in sims 2, throw a ball, play catch, rock paper scissors, hackysack, i mean these are MINIMAL animations that i took advantage of having and truly i miss them now, these simple things to do together better make there way into the sims get together expansion.
Now even though it sounds like im tearing them down tbh I truly love sims 4, like a lot, and I am such a hardcore sims 2 addict and fan that most of my friends and my husband is really surprised I am making the switch ( not to say i dont get on sims 2 sometimes still) I hope they continue the direction they have been cause im for the most part pleased.
oh ps. sims 4 sims are prudes lmao i mean sims 2 had the best make out system both standing and seated , the added closet woohoo is great but our sims are really lacking in the romance department for me, in sims 2 there was like 4 different hugs, leap for hug was my favorite, this needs to come back in some way, also if you influenced a sim ( kinda miss that too) then there was a big foot type hug they could do it was random and i loved it it was a good bro hug, i like the current bro hug its actually very realistic but the big foot hug was just fun they picked them up and threw them half way over their shoulder it was silly, i love silly cause it looks great in a music video :P
