The funny thing is I do not dress in a gothic style, my house is pretty modern/contemporary... it's just so fun to play around with a different aesthetic sometimes

I agree, LL, "gothic" style is ugly, but how fun it is to have a variety of weird item choices. My favorite furniture for Sims 1 were nasty, old objects that looked like found in a dumpster. Ripped upholstery, broken springs, wobbly structures... For lights I had barrels with lit junk inside. For bed, a bare military cot. I think a stack of newspapers and an old spool for coffee tables. Laid out old magazines instead of a rug. Everything beautifully ugly. I kinda miss Twinbrook from Sims 3 with all its junkyards. Sims 4 needs a similar neighborhood. Perhaps I could turn my Newcrest into slums... But the area is just too clean and beautiful.
These beds kind of remind me of Sims 2 vampires and their coffins. Those were well designed vampires, unlike the Sims 3 ones, that you couldn't even tell from regular sims.

I love playing with different themes in the game that I know I would never enjoy living with in RL too. I just find it really fun making something the epitome of a certain style for some reason...and I love seeing the work of other creators doing that. I have to say, that since I started making things for the Sims, that I've grown to appreciate design styles I never would have even looked at before. I like reading up on them, knowing more about how people lived in other eras, and seeing creative designers make rooms, buildings, or whole neighborhoods based on various design aesthetics. It's one of the things that drew me to create CC actually.
