Maybe you're using the wrong Blender version. Make sure it's one compatible with S4S (2.76 for sure, not entirely sure about 2.78, 2.79 seems doubtful, and anything beyond that is unlikely and you'll have to export as another format like OBJ into one of the compatible versions to make it work).
You can use pretty much any meshing program you want to make the actual mesh, as long as you can export the mesh as a format Blender can properly import. You'll have to do all the linking up to S4Studio in a Blender format/version S4S can read, though. If you get empty files, you're most likely using the wrong Blender version.

I literally used every single recommended Blender version and neither of them are opening the S4S-exported mesh properly. Whether it's 2.70, 2.76, or 2.79, NONE of them work to open the model file that S4S exports.
I've said this already- I have tried MULTIPLE Blender versions to open the file, and NONE of them keep the mesh data preserved. I get to step 4, exporting the stock earring mesh to open in Blender, and once the file is opened, all that shows up is lamps, no mesh or rig or anything.
And that is with ALL recommended Blender versions. Each and every one have the same problem.

Have you made sure to properly link up S4S, TS4 and Blender?
S4S has a "settings" tab that needs to have the proper paths set up for TS4 and Blender, and Blender needs to have plugins set up (can be found in one of the folders in S4S). I'm guessing that's what's missing here.
If none of this is properly set up, S4S won't be able to import anything from the game, it won't be able to export rigs to Blender, Blender won't get anything from S4S, and there will pretty much be empty screens all over.

...the tutorial did not mention that.

...No, it didn't. But you still have to do it.
I'm not sure if it's mentioned on the S4S download page (maybe not?), but I went looking for references to the plugins not long agobecause I couldn't remember where I found them, and it took me a while to figure out they are in the S4S folder. Tutorials are rather spread around all over.

Tutorials are rather spread around all over. There is no need in mentioning it in tutorial. Studio installs its plugins automatically when you provide correct path to Blender. If it's a compatible version it will embed the plugins, if it is not compatible it won't embedthe plugins. Users need to set up the Studio first and if it doesn't work we have a troubleshooting guide.

Does it install the plugins if you don't use the installer (zip/noinstall path)? if not, it could be worth mentioning in that case. I can not remember if I installed S4S regularly first (I probably did because I do have the proper folders and all that), but after that I've been using the noinstall versions (they happen to use the same folders and paths, and they're a bit easier to change, so... ). I just have a vague memory of some troubles with Blender and the plugins a long while back, on a different computer, probably tied to when I installed Blender (wrong version of Blender, probably).

Yes it does once you put the path to Blender. There is nothing that user needs to do manually, Studio installs the plugin regardless of what version of it was used.

So I installed Blender 2.7, but for some reason, it has this horrible white tint: How do I get rid of it? None of the other Blender versions I've used ever had this. Elysiun is meant to be one of the dark themes.

Hi, using Blender 2.76 for Windows. On Part 3, number 14, When I did this my mesh came out NOT looking like the example it did not have two seperate circles. I don't know how to upload a picture of what mine looked like otherwise I would but I followed all the previous steps exactly not sure what could have gone wrong. What do I do to fix this? Is it even an issue? I noticed Blender has changed since this tutorial was created and the tutorial does NOT accurately represent what Blender looks like accurately at all times too. Please help, I already restarted this project once and am getting frusterated that I keep having to stop running into issues questioning what the tutorials mean

Hi rosegoldsoul, it sounds like you're having an issue with the unwrap step (the step you're referring to is part of the mapping process). If you send the .blend, I can take a look at it.
I recommend obtaining Blender 2.70 if the interface differences between 2.70 & 2.76 are causing confusion. Blender updates a lot, and I cannot update the tutorial pics each time it does so. Also, if you point out the differences that are causing a potential roadblock, I can add notes to the tutorial that could help others who encounter the same difficulty you had.

Hi, not sure if anyone is still replying to comments on this post but i'm stuck at part 2 step 14. I can't tell which areas i'm meant to be selecting when it says 'click on each of the three sections making up one of the inner ring edges' and the pictures don't make it any clearer. the same goes for step 15. any help is always appreciated.
thanks so much for the tutorial!

Okay so I am on step 12, and I have hovered over the mini-plus sign for a good while. Is my blender broken or do I have to wait like 5 minutes or something?
