A mod that allows your sims to temporaly turn into a cat or dog, that would be so awesome!
It could be used for an werewolf trait, where your sim would turn into a wolf at night, or for a witch trait, so your sim could make a spell to turn into a cat (or it could go wrong and turn your sim into a frog, fish or hamster). SO. MANY. POSSIBILITIES!
Just that would be enough for me, but of course there's always more that could make it more fun, like being able to control your sim while in animal form, and more interactions with other sims, so it would look like there really is a sim into that body.
So, I don't know if it's possible to make this mod, but I've seen so many modders do so many amazing things in this comunity! I have hope :3

I also love that idea! Maybe to make it more magical to use the bright sprinkles when sims grow? and with the hands transform the sim in a cat (or dog) and for the interactions something similar to the mod of playable pets could it be? to the sim in a fish ... it could be from the fish tank of the game the frog ... in the terrarium that maybe another magic mod comes out ... I do not know but I also hope that it happens
for example art of magic mod has spells but I do not know if there is one like the one you mention ...

The way the request is stated it sounds like you're looking for a werewolf/Animorphs type thing, where the sim does it on purpose. But it also seems like a great idea for a Mischief spell, to turn someone into a cat or dog like with Morphiate.

I'll try experimenting a little, but I don't think it's possible
