Which 2D programs can we use? Gimp is the one I normally use, and it doesn't work.

Thanks so much for this tutorial! I am having one little issue though - I'm trying to make the custom thumbnails, but I have no option to import a .dds file. It has to be either .jpg or .png. And when I import my stencil/texture, in-game, it shows up like this in CAS: Which is fine, but the tutorial photo shows the stencil on the shirt, and that's what I'd like to see. :D Did I do something wrong? Thanks!

Custom thumbnails don't use the .dds format. If you want your stencil to show up on the shirt in your thumbnail then use Studio to remove the ones you've imported so far, save the .package, close Studio, put the .package in your mods folder, start the game and go to CAS, select your shirt and look at every swatch of it. The reopen the .package in Studio. Your thumbnails will all be there with the stencil showing on every shirt just as the game generates them for EA's garments. If you want to add your logo to them export them, edit them in your 2D editor, and the reimport them back to overwrite the game generated ones. archertippani, sorry to answer so late...I missed your question when you asked it. You can use any 2D editor really. I use paint.NET and it works well. It's also free.

Hello I am French. I downloaded Sims4studio and I followed everything to do. I can create a recolor, the garment appears in the CAS but in the game it is not displayed correctly. I do not understand why, can you help me please?

Please post a picture of what your garment looks like in CAS and what it looks like in the game. My guess is that you did not save your .dds with the Generate Mip Maps box checked. You can save in .png format and avoid that issue or you can put a check mark in the generate Mip Maps box when you save your .dds.

Hi! I have a question about the swatches, I have no problem with a swatch that's a single color. But any time I attempt to came a swatch with two or three colors, for something with multiple colors obviously, in CAS the swatch only every shows as one color. Typically the color that was chosen in the first swatch box, any color placed in the second or third boxes don't show up in game. So I thought perhaps it would be better to import a custom swatch, I made one, proper size, PNG file, saved, went into game, same problem. Seems like I cannot get anything put single color swatches to show up in game, which is odd, because when I open the package in the studio, they seem to work there. I'm wondering if there's something else I need to do, or I've somehow messed up somewhere along the lines. It's actually a little funny to think that color swatches are the things that are giving me problems, when it should be one of the simplest things

Hi blindingechoes, welcome to Studio forums. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by swatches with multiple colors only showing up with a single color. Could you post an illustration showing what you mean?

Does this work for the thumbnails for the clip pack? I don't know what size to make them and only 2 are showing up out of 7 but they are all the same size....?? orangemittens

I answered your other post on this. Let me know if you're still having problems getting your thumbnail to show up correctly.
