Thank you! I will try to follow these steps I am wondering...the specular is for a shiny effect right? Do I have to use it at all? I am also wondering...will there ever be a base wall added for making custom walls (and floors)? Cause what we are doing now is trying to cover over existing wall texture and taking several steps to do this (and I have failed).

I don't understand what you mean by base wall for making custom walls...could you explain that a little more? There are three basic steps to making a wall using Sims 4 Studio. First you clone the wall you want to recolor and then you import your textures to overwrite the existing ones. Then you save. This is how any recolor for the Sims is made including CAS parts, objects, and terrain paints. For walls there is an alternative but it involves the tedious process of typing xml code into a text editor and that process will not allow you to create walls with trim that are like EA's auto-corner walls without jumping through a lot of hoops adding code to the .package line by line.
As I said, the corner walls are somewhat of a pain. Using Studio to make them will minimize the pain as compared to using a different method but there is simply no way to minimize all the pain that's involved with making and swapping the large number of images required for this type of wall.
The specular does add shininess to a wall. If you don't want shininess you can overwrite an existing specular with a blank one. EA's Borderline wall looks like it's an auto-cornering wall and it already has a blank specular. It has an uncomplicated bump as well...the only texturing there is a line where the trim meets the rest of the wall pattern. That one is problably the closest to giving you a blank slate to work with if you want to make a corner wall.

I did not use a corner wall as clone.

Hi countrykris, I think you've run into an issue that is built into how EA makes the two story walls tile. This picture shows EA's Outdoor Retreat vertical plank wall placed on a two story home and it has the same failure to tile correctly as yours shows: There is nothing you did wrong...it's simply how the game works with tiling between floors. In looking at the problem no sufficient fix for it springs to my mind. If you made separate edge walls designed to tilt a little over at the top to match the bottom that isn't lining up then that wouldn't look completely right tiled with the wall on the same level. You could try something like that and see how it went though...it might be a subtle enough difference that it's acceptable to you. I wish I had a better answer.

Ok thank you for taking a look at it. Glad it was not me that messed something up. This is my first attempt at a Custom Content creation.

You're welcome It definitely isn't how you made the wall that's causing the issue.

Love it, love it, love it! I finally got around to tackling making my own custom walls and floors for my game. S4S makes it sooooo much easier to do so!

Orangemittens I am having a problem. I used paint but I am not sure what I did wrong. I made the first 256x768 ctrl c ctrl v a 256x256 immage then saved as a 256x512 dds but it just does not look right. It is not as clear as the original image. Please take a look. 1drv.ms/1Mfhi0T

Hi Panuts, can you send me the original image that you're wanting to have show on the wall? I've downloaded your .package and I think I see the issue but I need the original image to be sure.
