Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to easily recategorize Buy Mode items.
What you will need
Sims 4 Studio v. 2.4.0.4 or above
Instructions
1. Create your object recolor/mesh or open the object .package using the My Projects button. Choose the function that you want for the object using the checkboxes. You can pick categories and sub-categories. If you want all swatches in the .package to have the same function category just change the first one and then click the Apply To All Swatches button.
2. Choose the color if you want to change it from what it is. You can use the apply to all swatches feature here too but, if your swatches are different colors, you can just click the next swatch and choose a different color. If a swatch has more than one color you can check off multiple colors too.
3. Use the scroll bar on the right side to scroll through all the available object categories. Clicking on the small down arrow to the left of a category will expand it so you can see the check boxes for all the sub-categories available for that category.
4. When you're done selecting the categories, sub-categories, and colors click the Save button and check your item in the game. If you have any questions about this tutorial please post in this thread.

I've done this and it didn't work for me. I'm wanting to make a chair that won't snap onto a dining table to desk, and make it where it does snap to those. I can't find a tutorial for this! Someone please help!

Hi lindseeeyx, this tutorial only shows how to make things go into the correct category. What you're talking about is changing the way an object behaves which depends on the tuning not the category. Take a look at Andrew's tutorial on how to change the comfort scores of a bed. That tutorial shows how to change the tuning of an object. I think what you need to do is give your chair the tuning of a dining chair instead of a living room chair. Give his tutorial a try and if you have more questions about it feel free to ask in that thread

Hi, I'm sorry if this is not the right place to ask, but I cloned an object that requires achievement in game and I was wondering how could I remove that? like I want my object to be a normal one, no profession achievement required to buy it. Is it possible to do that with S4S?

Hi, I have a quick question. I'm cloning a couple of GTW signs and making them standalone recolors, but I noticed in the the descriptions /n/this will make more customers come to your store. I want to make sure the signs I'm creating will not draw customers because they are for a residential lot. Thanks so much.

Hi digitaldollies, if you want the signs to behave like a decorative sign rather than as a draw for customers you can change the tuning of the item. Andrew wrote a tutorial showing how to change the tuning of a bed and this example is done essentially how you would go about making the tuning change for your item. Take a look at that tutorial and if you run into questions let me know

Sorry, I just saw this reply. I didn't change the tuning, I just erased that line of text, but the lot I used it on was residential and after several days of gameplay never saw any sort of issues.

I wish there is a batch renamer for Object, like the Bulk Rename Utility for Windows. Thank you for doing this Tutorial, I wish I saw it earlier, not after like 500000 edits later and I didn't know better, now apparently lots of SWATCHES are still left in their original categories. KILL ME PLEASE

Is it possible to organize CC in the catalog so that it appears AFTER EA objects? I had re-categorized some CC into Deco Misc but now the EA ottomans are kind of lost in the mix. Hey criz I don't know a good fix for this either, but what I'm currently doing is to raise the object's price because the objects are sorted by price, so many of my CC are ridiculously expensive.

Hi redpanda148, I'm not sure what it is you're seeing that is causing confusion. Could you post a screenshot illustrating the question?
