IntroductionThis tutorial will show you how to remove unwanted color choices (swatches) from a Sims 4 .package. The example item is a painting but the same method will work for CAS items like hair and clothes. Once you use Studio to remove a swatch that swatch is gone for good so be sure you really don't want it before removing it. Once it's gone the only way to get it back is to download the item again. Make sure your game is not running when you remove swatches. Studio cannot save a .package if it's in your Sims 4/Mods folder and the game is running. What you will needSims 4 Studio 2.6.0.4 (Sugar) or above InstructionsOpen Sims 4 Studio and put a name in the Creator Name box. This will not affect any .package except for new .packages that you make yourself so you can choose anything you want. 1. Click the My CC button 2. This will bring up the My CC section. On the left you will see inside your Sims 4/Mods folder. If you have folders inside that folder they will be listed. To see inside them click the small arrow to the left of the folder. This will open that folder and all the .packages inside it will be listed. Click on the .package that you want to remove a swatch from. 3. This will open that .package in Studio's model viewer. To the right of that you will see the swatch box. Click on the swatch that you don't want. It will be displayed on the model in the model viewer so you will be able to click through the swatches if you need to in order to find the one you want to remove. 4. When the unwanted swatch is displayed on the model in the model viewer click the Remove Swatch button. If there are multiple swatches you want to remove click on the next swatch and, when it's displayed on the model, click the Remove Swatch button again. 5. When you've removed all the swatches you don't want click the Save button and check the item in the game. The unwanted swatches will be gone.

Thank you for that very useful tutorial. But what if I need only the mesh? I'm having a little space in my computer - so it's obvious I want to save it as much as I can. I've downloaded a hair original mesh and recolours in one package file - but those are realistic, and I prefer those in maxis match recolours. So I've downloaded it also. So I'm opening the S4S, My project, I'm opening the original hair.package, opening the warehouse tab - then I select all CAS files and RLE 2 Images, leaving only geometry and region map, and here it comes my problem - DELETE BUTTON doesn't work. Why? How can I only leave the mesh? If I try to delete all swatches, with the last one S4S crushes and closes.

There has been only one previous report from a person who could not get the delete button in the Warehouse to work. He ended up solving his problem by performing a Windows update. Studio is not yet able to delete all swatches from a .package. This is a holdover from the My CC's section growth from a tool that is a custom content creation tool. We can update Studio so that it will allow deletion of all swatches when you're using the My CC feature. This would have the effect of making the item disappear entirely from your game unless you have a recolor.package in the Sims 4/Mods folder along with it. In the meantime if you want to remove all of the original swatches from the mesh.package and your computer will not allow you to click the delete button you can export a desirable swatch diffuse image from the .package that has swatches you like and import that to overwrite one of the swatch images in the .package containing the swatches you don't like. Then you could delete that swatch from the .package that contains swatches you like and delete all the other swatches in the .package that you don't like. All of this should be done from the Studio tab. The Warehouse is not, in general, where the addition and deletion of swatches should be taking place.

Thank you!!!! This is the answer I've looked for! Seems so simple, I'll try that later.

This is exactly what I been looking for. What I want to know is, will deleting swatches from the package make the overall package size smaller? (Lower MB to save space is what I am after). Also if I have recolors of this item, will me deleting some swatches of the original package ruin my recolors?

Also if I have recolors of this item, will me deleting some swatches of the original package ruin my recolors? To your first question, u will say yes. Removing swatches will reduce the file size of your package file. And to your second question, I don't think so because the once you have the main package in your game, it will pick up any recolors based on it that is present in your mods folder

Thanks a lot! I will definitely check this out and see if the lower MB packages (then merging my files) help reduce load time.

the mac version of s4s doesn't yet have the my cc button. you can however open the package by putting it in your s4s mods folder or open it from my projects.

I have a Mac and I just want to say that the remove button doesn't work for me at all (in warehouse), and everything as far as I know is updated. Is this a bug or something? I even deleted and reinstalled s4s and nothing. Please help? There's a lot of unwanted things that I would like to get rid of.

Has anyone been able to get this functionality to work on the latest version of Sims Studio? The swatches will stay deleted as long as I have the package open, but if I save changes, wait for the confirmation to pop up, exit the "My CC" window and re-open it, the swatches are back and still show up in-game. The package last edited date changes, and if I change other things like categorizations, those save appropriately, it's just the swatch removal that refuses to save.

I am having the same issue as ioliteshimmer, it is saving but the changes of removing the swatches from the CC are not sticking. In my case this is only happening with a merged cc pack. The others delete the swatches with no problem. Edit: ioliteshimmer I have been testing, if you use 'My CC' you can not always delete a swatch. However, if you open the same swatch by using 'My Projects' and delete a swatch it seems to stick. It seemingly would work with both merged and unmerged packs, but it seemed easier to use an unmerged pack.

I'm having this same problem too, and am wondering if it's because it's a merged file of hair recolours? As the swatches stay deleted on regular hair mesh files and clothes (at least for me)
